An independent institute for animal species research.
Faunexis Research Institute was founded to build a continuous, openly indexed record of animal species. Our work is observational and analytical: we document what we find, publish it as numbered research reports, and keep every report retrievable.
The research project
Faunexis Research Institute runs an independent animal identification and zoological research programme. Working from field imagery, hair, feather, skeletal, and shed material, our staff describe morphology, assign specimens against the reference collection, and record the evidence behind each assignment. Every study is issued as a numbered research report so the reasoning, not only the result, remains open to inspection.

Traceable evidence
Sample identity, imagery, methods, observations, and conclusions remain connected through one numbered record.
Reproducible methods
Reports describe how material was examined so another qualified researcher can assess the reasoning.
Defined limits
Research status and interpretive limits are stated plainly; records do not claim regulatory authority.
Mandate
The institute is funded by research endowments and collaborating universities. We do not issue permits, licences, or certificates on behalf of any authority, and we hold no regulatory function. Our output is research: field records, laboratory results, and the reports that summarise them.
